PostScript (PS) was created by Adobe in 1982-1984.

Printer Command Language (PCL)

Printer Command Language (PCL) was created by Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 1984.


PPDS (Personal Printer Data Stream) was created by IBM.


RPCS (Refined Printing Command Stream) was created by Ricoh.


Open XML Paper Specification (XPS) was created by Microsoft in 2006.
